— 01 / THE BRIEF

Freestanding wardrobes waste a third of the wall.

The standard UAE bedroom comes with a shallow developer wardrobe: one hanging rail, one shelf, sliding doors that jump their track, and half a metre of dead space above that collects suitcases and dust. Buying freestanding replacements makes it worse — they never reach the ceiling, they leave gaps at both ends, they tip on uneven floors, and the internal layout assumes everyone owns the same mix of long dresses, folded shirts and shoes. Storage is lost precisely where the room has the most to give.

A built-in wardrobe uses the full opening: wall to wall, floor to ceiling, scribed to walls that are rarely square. We plan the interior around an actual inventory — metres of long hanging for abayas and dresses, double hanging for shirts, drawer banks for folded items, shoe racking, and dedicated luggage storage in the upper section. Doors are hinged or sliding on quality gear with soft-close, interiors are lit with motion-sensor LED, and everything is manufactured in our workshop then installed and adjusted on site in a single day per room.

Full-height, wall-to-wall

No dust shelf above, no gaps at the ends — the whole opening becomes storage.

Materials and finishes we work with

  • Moisture-resistant MDF carcasses
  • Two-pack lacquer doors
  • Oak and walnut veneer
  • Textured laminate fronts
  • Bronze and grey mirrored glass
  • Fluted glass door inserts
  • Blum soft-close hinges
  • Full-extension drawer runners
  • Anti-jump sliding door gear
  • Motion-sensor LED profiles

Interiors are finished in a light, wipeable melamine so the contents stay visible, while doors carry the room's design finish. Sliding gear is top-hung with anti-jump guides — the reason developer wardrobes derail is bottom-running track full of sand.

Built-in Wardrobes questions, answered.

Two to three weeks of workshop manufacture after the layout is signed, then one to two days on site including removal of the old unit.

Hinged doors give full access to the interior and cost less; sliding doors suit rooms where there is under a metre of clearance in front of the wardrobe. Sliding gear should always be top-hung.

Yes. Panels are cut to the surveyed profile and scribed on site, which is exactly the situation where modular units cannot work.

Yes, it is part of the installation, including making good any wall damage behind it before the new unit goes in.

Shelves and rails are on adjustable supports, so layouts can be reconfigured yourself. Drawer banks are fixed, so we plan those against the inventory at the start.

In villa bedrooms on external walls we add discreet rear ventilation gaps and recommend leaving a small clearance behind the carcass, which prevents the musty smell common in sealed units.

Motion-sensor LED to hanging sections is included in premium specifications and available as an add-on to standard, wired to a nearby socket by our licensed electrician.
