Coastal gardens with salt in the wind.

Abu Dhabi gardens carry a factor Dubai's inland communities mostly avoid: persistent salt-laden onshore wind. On Saadiyat, Yas and Al Raha Beach it burns tender planting, corrodes ordinary steel fixings and shortens the life of anything specified without thinking about exposure. Inland in Khalifa City the problem flips to soil quality and irrigation efficiency, where imported topsoil and a properly zoned system decide whether planting establishes at all.

We design capital gardens around exposure first. Salt-tolerant species and windbreak planting near the coast, aluminium and marine-grade fixings on shade structures, light-toned paving that stays walkable, and drip irrigation zoned by plant type on a smart controller. Levels, drainage and irrigation are installed before planting, and shade goes over the seating area rather than being added as an afterthought.

Approvals and permits in Abu Dhabi

Planting and paving inside your Abu Dhabi plot generally proceed without a permit. Fixed shade structures, boundary changes, level changes and pools require an Abu Dhabi Municipality submission with structural drawings covering wind uplift, and Saadiyat and Yas villas need the community consultant's review first. We prepare and lodge both, and coordinate ADDC where external lighting loads change.

  • Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) modification and completion permits
  • ADDC applications for supply upgrades, meter changes and disconnection
  • Island community approvals — Aldar, Modon and consultant sign-off on Saadiyat and Yas
  • Civil defence clearances where fire systems or gas lines are altered

Landscaping in Abu Dhabi, answered.

From around AED 90,000 for a townhouse garden, AED 190,000 to 480,000 for a villa garden with a pergola and coastal-rated planting, and above that for estate plots on Saadiyat and Al Bateen.

Not for planting and paving inside the plot. Fixed pergolas, boundary and level changes and pools need an Abu Dhabi Municipality submission, with a community consultant review first on the islands.

Salt-tolerant species — date palms, sea hibiscus, bougainvillea in sheltered positions, conocarpus windbreaks and desert grasses — planted with imported topsoil and zoned drip irrigation.

Nine to thirteen weeks for a villa garden covering groundworks, paving, pergola, irrigation and planting. Consultant review on island plots can add two weeks before a start.

Yes — shaded seating with built-in benches, lighting and power, sized for the gatherings the family actually hosts rather than a standard three-seat arrangement.

Yes. Scheduled visits cover planting health, irrigation performance, lighting and hard landscaping checks, priced as an annual contract alongside property maintenance if wanted.
